About Ninja +Positive Teachers
A Life Ninja uses their skills and surroundings for progressive advantage, and in our coaching sessions together we will take the powerful awareness of the AQAL Spiral Dynamics model in conjunction with a new Meaning Of Life and apply them to your teaching practices.
After many years disillusioned by the national curriculum, I once again stepped into the educational arena in 2025 as a teaching assistant—but this time I took with me my spiritual life coaching skills and expanded consciousness.
In our Ninja +Positive Teachers workshops, we will work together to expand and rejeuvenate your enthusiasm for teaching and what you, as the life coach for our new generations, can develop in order to meet the needs of our future inclusive societies.
If we don't do this, it's not only our education system that is in dire peril, but society itself. Click the button below to book a Ninja 1-2-1 coaching session and discover how an ontological meaning of life can rejeuvenate your teaching enthusiasm.
We can do this! 🙏
The Welsh Educational Curriculum: A Life Coaching Perspective
Education is never just about academic achievement—it’s also about nurturing young people to become confident, resilient, and purpose-driven individuals. From a life coaching perspective, the Welsh educational curriculum, particularly the new Curriculum for Wales (introduced in 2022), offers a forward-looking model for preparing learners not only for exams but for life itself.
A Holistic Vision of Education
The Curriculum for Wales is built on four key purposes. Its aim is to help every child and young person become:
- Ambitious, capable learners ready to learn throughout their lives.
- Enterprising, creative contributors who can make a difference to the world.
- Ethical, informed citizens who understand and respect their place in society.
- Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives.
From a life coaching lens, these four purposes align directly with the pillars of personal development: goal-setting, creativity, values, and wellbeing. Instead of treating education as a race toward grades, the Welsh approach focuses on identity, agency, and balance—three qualities that coaches often help clients rediscover in adulthood.
Areas of Learning as Pathways to Self-Discovery
The curriculum is organised into six Areas of Learning and Experience (AoLEs):
- Expressive Arts
- Health and Well-being
- Humanities
- Languages, Literacy and Communication
- Mathematics and Numeracy
- Science and Technology
As a Spiritual Life coach, I see these areas not simply as subjects but as pathways for self-discovery and growth. For instance:
- Health and Well-being explicitly encourages reflection on resilience, relationships, and emotional intelligence—the very tools coaching draws upon.
- Expressive Arts fosters creativity and confidence, vital for personal expression.
- Humanities encourages learners to situate themselves in the wider world, promoting empathy and perspective-taking.
By emphasising interconnectedness rather than compartmentalisation, the curriculum encourages learners to see how knowledge and skills transfer into real life.
Coaching Principles in Action
Three principles in the Welsh curriculum echo coaching practices directly:
- Learner-led development – Pupils are encouraged to co-create learning pathways, much as clients co-create their coaching journey. This fosters ownership and accountability.
- Reflection and self-assessment – Instead of simply being tested, learners reflect on progress and growth. This mirrors the coaching process of pausing, evaluating, and adjusting goals.
- Future readiness – The curriculum embeds skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and adaptability. In coaching terms, this is about cultivating a growth mindset and resilience against uncertainty.
Preparing for a Changing World
The modern world demands more than technical expertise; it requires emotional intelligence, adaptability, and lifelong learning. The Welsh curriculum equips learners with exactly these qualities by normalising curiosity, wellbeing, and values-driven action.
From my coaching perspective, the Curriculum for Wales is not only a framework for learning but a framework for life. It equips young people with the self-awareness and personal leadership skills many adults later seek through coaching.
Final Thought
As a coach, I often meet clients searching for clarity, confidence, and connection. Imagine if more people emerged from school already versed in reflection, resilience, and purpose-led action. That's where you, as their teacher, comes in. The Welsh educational curriculum is a step toward that vision: a generation of learners who don’t just pass exams but thrive in life.
From a Ninja +Positive perspective, I also introduce the greater awareness of higher consciousness and an understanding of the Meaning Of Life. This additional awareness provides you with the life-long direction toward which you can apply your teaching skills and a create a grounding upon which school leavers build their lives.
